Dr. Earl D. McBride, a pioneer in the field of orthopedics and arthritis care, believed in a life of service and began a legacy that continues today through the work of the McBride Foundation.
The McBride Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was formed in 2005 by a group of physicians led by Dr. Thomas Howard. The vision was to benefit the health of Oklahomans through education, treatment and research for crippling bone and joint disease.
In 2009 the Board of Directors hired the first full-time director for the organization. In the fall of 2009, the McBride Foundation held its first golf tournament to fund the mission. Additionally, we funded a $50,000 research grant to a local university studying juvenile arthritis.
In 2010 the McBride Foundation implemented Arthritis 101, a free monthly discussion group led by doctors and specialists.
